Physicochemical treatment (flotation) is applied for treatment of highly concentrated waste water for removal of colloid and fine-dispersed contaminants of impurities, as well as for separation of mixed liquor instead of final settling tanks and sludge consolidation tanks.

Waste water treatment on flotators can be carried out either with the use of different chemical agents (coagulants, flocculants), which significantly increases the treatment degree, or without them subject to contamination types and requirements to the treatment quality. The efficiency of physicochemical treatment with chemical agents by COD and BOD20 is 70-80%, by suspended substances – 90-95%, by oils – 90-95%, by oil products – 95-96% depending on operation conditions and waste water types.

Flotation is used for waste water treatment in the following sectors:

  • food industry (meat-processing plants, milk plants, killing departments, oil production);
  • oil-processing industry;
  • chemical industry;
  • paper-pulp industry.

Flotators can have rectangular or round shape. Rectangular flotators’ capacity varies from 9.0 to 450 m3/hour, round flotators’ capacity varies from 5.0 to 2000 m3/hour. All flotators are made of stainless steel.
