A special feature of our biogas plants is that they are standardized. This reduces the design therefore capital expenditures significantly. In order to do primary calculations of a cattle manure-based biogas plant, you should know:

  • manure type and moisture content;
  • manure quantity.

If it is difficult to determine the moisture content, you can use some statistical data:

There are the following types of cattle manure.

Manure type

Name

Method of manure removal

Moisture content, %

I

Litter manure

Mechanically, seasonally

60

Natural manure

Mechanically, daily

85-88

II

Self-fusing manure removal system

Mechanically into a channel, minimum water addition, daily

94-96

Statistical data for cattle manure output.

Animals

Manure output with moisture content 88%, kg/day

Milch cows

45 - 70

Heifers and calfs

15 - 20

Up to 24 m3 of biogas with methane content of 55-60% can be produced from 1 ton of cattle manure effluent.

Up to 60 m3 of biogas with methane content of 55-60% can be produced from 1 ton of natural cattle manure.
